The real estate market has witnessed an uptake in the last one year, and the initiatives of the government like Housing for all, smart cities, opening up FDI in the real estate segment, RERA, etc. are expected to bring more confidence in the market in future.

Commenting on the hospitality lighting segment, Aggarwal said that hospitality sector has registered highest adoption of LED-oriented lighting solutions and the domination of the sector in the professional lighting segment will continue in the coming years as well. “There is a strong realization among the hospitality segment about the benefits of LED lighting not just in terms of the quality of lighting , but also in terms of the savings in energy consumption,” he said.

Aggarwal said that with the new range of professional lighting products, the company will be “consciously targeting” the hospitality and architectural lighting segment in a big way. “Professional lighting is where we can create a technology differentiator. Trade lighting has become more and more commoditized across the world, where creating a technology differentiator and get the pricing is difficult. Therefore, our focus is to capitalize on our strengths and grow the professional lighting market,” he said.

When asked about the market size they are looking at in India, Aggarwal said that they have entered into Professional lighting segment a year ago and the volume is quite small as of now. However, their target is to grow the overall LED lighting market to Rs 450 to 500 cr. over the next three years. With the targeted growth, the company would try to grow the Professional lighting segment share in the overall business to 70%, which is currently 60:40 in favour of Trade lighting.
