What is DC Charging?

DC chargers, known as fast or rapid chargers, bypass the vehicle's onboard charger and supply direct current (DC) directly to the battery. This enables much faster charging, making them ideal for long-distance travel or fast charging in commercial locations. (DC chargers convert AC from the grid to DC within the charging station itself, and this DC is then supplied directly to the vehicle's battery. Since the power is delivered in a form the battery can immediately use, the charging process is much faster.)
